Dark Metamorphosis

Dark Metamorphosis is a state where any sword attack Alucard lands will heal Alucard by a small percent. You gain meter through dealing and receiving damage, where the amount of players, as well as if you are currently in a combo, will influence the amount of meter you gain. Once you land Dark Dive with enough meter (or with Mist Dash, it will activate automatically), you will enter Dark Metamorphosis. Missing sword attacks will deplete the amount of time you have left in this state, however. Down tilt and Back air are very useful tools, as they can combo into other sword-based attacks for a guaranteed heal. Be careful about relying too much on your sword attacks, as missing several moves will have you exiting this state rather quickly. Alucard has access to some modifiers for his special attacks as well. They do cost Dark Metamorphosis time, but they can be extremely useful in mixing up your game.

Do note that you can enter Dark Metamorphosis multiple times per stock, but each subsequent phase will decrease the amount of meter you earn. Stock tanking with Dark metamorphosis, especially in doubles, will be much easier said than done!


Dark Inferno

During Neutral Special, if you hold down the special attack button, this becomes Dark Inferno. Dark Inferno is a slow moving ball of destruction, that will explode on impact (including exploding on shields)!


Soul Steal

Catching someone during side special will change this move into Soul Steal. Alucard converts the remaining Dark Metamorphosis time into health, and ends the Dark Metamorphosis state.


Wing Crash

A spiraling variant of Wing Smash that has heavy armor, and travels further. Could be very potent on stage, but it does deplete a noticeable amount of meter. You will automatically use this move whenever you use up special.
